Take One Picture Week

Uncategorized 2 Comments »

peter_doigThis week in school, we are looking closely at a painting called ‘Blotter’, by the artist Peter Doig.  We have started some artwork and linked our Maths, PSHE and ICT to the painting.  We’d love to know your thoughts about the painting.  What questions would you ask the artist if you could?

Year 3 Assembly

Well done to all the children who have been learning their lines and know them confidently!  Remember to keep practising, using your biggest voice so everyone can hear you clearly on Friday.

Have a practise of our song too.

I turn on the tap and the water flows,

Don’t know where it comes from,

Don’t know where it goes,

It’s clean and clear and we never run short,

So I never ever give it a second thought!

I walk to the stream in the heat of the day,

It’s a long, long, long, long way!

I turn on the tap and the water flows,

Don’t know where it comes from,

Don’t know where it goes,

It’s clean and clear and we never run short,

So I never ever give it a second thought!

I walk to the stream in the heat of the day,

It’s a long, long, long, long way!
Same stream where we wash each sheet,

All our dirty clothes and our hands and feet.

Same stream where the crocodile,

Drifts and waits for a careless child.

Same stream where we sometimes gloat,

At the body of a floating goat.

Same stream where a mile up hill,

The cows do things cows always will.

Same stream with the same old stink,

Nothing else for us to drink.
Same stream where the grubs and worms,

Fight for room with a million germs.
I turn on the tap and the water flows,

Don’t know where it comes from,

Don’t know where it goes,

It’s clean and clear and we never run short,

So I never ever give it a second thought!

I walk to the stream in the heat of the day,

It’s a long, long, long, long way!

It’s a long, long, long, long way!
